Genius Mushrooms Review

I’ve Took Genius Mushrooms for a month. Here’s what I Think (Review 2023)

Do mushrooms possess magical properties? No, I’m not talking about the psychedelic ones. People are putting mushrooms in their coffee, in their tea, and even their face cream.

Why?

It’s been said that mushrooms have mental enhancement properties, and the science is just now coming around.

A study done by the University of Queensland found that “active compound[s] from an edible mushroom…boosts nerve growth and enhances memory.”

To be honest, I’ve been mushroom curious for a few years. Lately, I’ve been curious about increasing my cognitive ability naturally – especially after the brain fog that comes with being a father of three very rambunctious kids. It sometimes feels like mentally I’m on another planet. That’s why I started taking Genius Mushrooms – I wanted to see if it could help me, or if it was just another gimmick.

What is Genius Mushrooms?

Genius Mushrooms is a mushroom supplement by the Genius Brand – and it’s been wildly popular on Amazon for a while. Claiming to boost your immune system, natural energy, and improve memory and focus – Genius Mushrooms makes a lot of promises. Can they live up to them?

Reading Genius Mushrooms Reviews on Amazon

Like most shoppers, I started with the reviews on Amazon – and there’s a lot. For the most part, they are overwhelmingly positive. Here’s a few:

“I was skeptical but after reading the reviews I decided to give it a try. Definitely by far helps with my mood! I’m so much more positive in everything I do. I can see everything on the brighter side these days and that in my book is a 5 star rating.”

“I absolutely love these mushrooms! I can’t run out of these or my brain gets back to its groggy ways. I suffer from muscle cramps, adult ADHD and occasional depression/anxiety and these have been a life saver.”

“This has made me remember the little things. At times I’ve gotten in trouble because if a slow recall and short term memory issues. This product has made those things slowly come back to me and my job issues are improving!”

The thing is, you’ve got to take these reviews, especially around supplements with a grain of salt. They’re certainly the case to be made for the Placebo effect; and our mind has a way of making things seem like they work because we want them to.

A friend once told me if a supplement company without empirical data relies on testimonials and it’s obvious from checking out the website that they’re heavily reliant on testimonials.

What are The Ingredients in Genius Mushrooms?

Lions Mane (500mg)

Lion’s Mane (Hericium erinaceus) is a unique mushroom with a long history of use in traditional Asian medicine. People have been utilizing it for centuries due to its potential health benefits. Its often recognized by its distinctive appearance, resembling a lion’s mane, which makes it easily identifiable in the wild.

Historically, Lion’s Mane has been well-regarded for its potential to enhance cognitive function and support overall brain health. Many believe that consuming Lion’s Mane can help improve memory, focus, and concentration. For that reason, it’s been really popular in the natural health world.

Beyond brain health, some claim that Lion’s Mane may support the nervous system, aid in reducing inflammation, and promote overall well-being.

But what does science say about Lion’s Mane?

According to the center for cognitive health “A double-blind clinical trial assessing the oral administration of H. erinaceus fruiting bodies in elderly humans showed improvement in subjects with mild cognitive impairment compared to age-matched controls. Researchers measured improvements using the Revised Hasegawa Dementia Scale (HDS-R).”

I was actually turned on to genius mushrooms because I tried lion’s mane in an exact form, which I found was helpful to me.

Cordyceps (500mg)

Cordyceps is a unique type of mushroom with an interesting life cycle. In the wild, it grows on the bodies of certain caterpillar species, using them as hosts. However, the cordyceps used in supplements and traditional medicine is a cultivated variety, not derived from insects.

This mushroom has gained attention for its potential to boost energy levels. Some believe that consuming cordyceps may enhance stamina, endurance, and overall vitality.

The science on Cordyceps?

Recent studies do suggest that cordyceps improves tolerance to high intensity exercise.

an exploratory three week supplementation period resulted in significant improvements in maximal oxygen consumption, with potential improvements in ventilatory threshold and time to exhaustion”

And  another study that Cordyceps influenced and improved memory in mice

Reishi (500mg)

Reishi, also known as Lingzhi in Chinese, is a highly esteemed mushroom with a distinctive kidney-shaped cap and a glossy, woody appearance. Its use dates back thousands of years in traditional Chinese and Japanese medicine.

This mushroom has earned the title of “The Mushroom of Immortality” for its reputation as a potent adaptogen. Adaptogens are natural substances believed to help the body adapt to stress and maintain balance. Reishi is often used to support overall well-being and promote a sense of calm and relaxation.

Personal Experience With Genius Mushrooms

I’ve got to say I’m honestly pretty happy about Genius Mushrooms. Within the first few days I noticed a certain steady energy and calmness. I’ve been taking them in the morning with my coffee and I believe they improve the quality of my day.

Now, I wouldn’t say it’s like taking the limitless pill, or that my third eye is now open – but I’m going to keep taking them.

Alternatives to Genius Mushrooms

I’m a big fan of going to the source. Technically, you could get the same benefit of genius mushrooms by using each mushroom supplement individually. I’ve had success with the following:

  • Lion’s Mane Extract – Fast acting and liquid, I like putting this in my coffee or just mixing with my water.
  • Cordyceps Extract – This powdered extract is very popular and has no fillers – just pure and natural.
  • Reishi Extract – Another fast-acting liquid and natural Reishi extract from Earth 2 Humans.

Conclusion

All-in-all, I’m a fan of Genius Mushrooms and I plan on taking them for a little longer. If you’re considering them, I’d give them a shot.
